A very significant development this year is that Strokestown Park House and Famine Museum will be featured on television NBC network America as part of the transmission of the New York Fifth Avenue parade.

The visiting delegation will proudly march with local diaspora and members of the County Roscommon Society of New York Society. The viewership of NBC is a staggering eight million viewers giving ‘Destination Roscommon’ an incredible audience.

The delegation also undertook a series of official engagements and were guests at the County Roscommon Society of New York annual Roscommon dinner in Yorkers, New York.

While there, the visiting delegation made a presentation to Union County Prosecutor Jim Tansey whose ancestors hail from Ballinlough and who is President of the County Roscommon Society of New York.
